Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This policy is provided in English. A French version may be made available on request, consistent with Cameroon’s official bilingual framework.
1. Introduction
Skye8 Company LTD ("Skye8", "we", "us", or "our") is a technology company incorporated and operating in Cameroon. We build enterprise software, mobility platforms, education technology, and professional services for clients in Cameroon, across Africa, and internationally.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you interact with our websites (including https://skye8.tech), applications (including https://app.skye8.tech), products such as Hyrre and Learnoso, internship and academy programs, careers pages, APIs, and related digital services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required under applicable law, we will seek it separately and clearly.
2. Cameroon legal framework
Skye8 processes personal data in accordance with applicable laws of the Republic of Cameroon, including personal data protection legislation such as Law No. 2024/017 of 8 August 2024 on the protection of personal data, together with relevant telecommunications, consumer protection, and commercial regulations.
Where our Services involve users or clients outside Cameroon, we also take into account internationally recognised data protection principles and, where applicable, contractual obligations with enterprise customers.
If Cameroon establishes or designates a national data protection authority with supervisory powers, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority in addition to contacting us directly.
3. Who is responsible for your data
For the purposes of this policy, the data controller is:
Skye8 Company LTD
Ghana Street, Bamenda, Northwest Region, Cameroon
Email: info@skye8.tech
Phone: +237 672 269 760
For certain hosted products, client deployments, or enterprise contracts, Skye8 may act as a data processor on behalf of a customer. In those cases, the customer’s privacy notice and data processing terms govern how your information is handled within that specific service.
4. Information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to operate our Services, respond to requests, deliver software, comply with law, and improve security. Depending on how you interact with Skye8, this may include:
- Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, organisation, job title, country, and city (including locations in Cameroon such as Bamenda, Douala, Yaoundé, or other regions).
- Inquiry and communications data: messages submitted through contact forms, partnership requests, support tickets, academy applications, and recruitment correspondence.
- Careers data: CV or résumé, cover letter, portfolio links, employment history, qualifications, references, and interview notes.
- Account and product usage data: login identifiers, role assignments, configuration settings, audit logs, and activity within Skye8-managed applications where you hold an account.
- Technical and device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.
- Payment and billing data: where applicable for paid services, billing contact details and transaction references. Payment card data is generally processed by regulated payment providers rather than stored directly by Skye8.
- Marketing preferences: newsletter subscriptions, event registrations, and communication opt-in or opt-out records.
5. How we collect information
We collect information when you provide it directly (for example, by completing a form, applying for a role, creating an account, or emailing us), when you use our Services automatically through logs and cookies, when you interact with our team during sales or delivery, and when we receive information from trusted third parties such as recruitment platforms, referral partners, or enterprise customers inviting you to a workspace.
6. How we use personal information
We use personal information for legitimate business purposes, including:
- responding to contact, partnership, and support requests;
- evaluating, recruiting, and onboarding employees, interns, and contractors;
- providing, maintaining, securing, and improving our websites, APIs, and software products;
- delivering training, academy cohorts, and professional services under contract;
- sending service-related notices, security alerts, and administrative messages;
- sending marketing communications where permitted by law and your preferences;
- analysing usage trends to improve performance, accessibility, and product design;
- detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- complying with legal obligations, regulatory requests, and contractual duties;
- establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
7. Legal bases for processing
Under applicable Cameroonian and international data protection standards, we rely on one or more of the following bases: your consent; performance of a contract or steps prior to entering a contract; compliance with legal obligations; protection of vital interests; and our legitimate interests in operating a secure, effective technology business, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out.
10. International data transfers
Skye8 is based in Cameroon, but our infrastructure and service providers may process data in Cameroon, other African countries, the European Union, the United States, or other jurisdictions.
Where personal data is transferred outside Cameroon, we implement appropriate safeguards such as contractual data protection clauses, vendor due diligence, encryption in transit, access controls, and data minimisation.
11. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
- Contact and sales inquiries: typically up to 24 months after last interaction, unless a business relationship continues.
- Recruitment records: typically up to 18 months after the hiring process ends, unless you consent to talent-pool retention.
- Customer and product records: for the life of the contract and a reasonable period thereafter for support, billing, and legal compliance.
- Security logs: for a limited period appropriate to incident investigation and systems integrity.
12. Security measures
We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure development practices, staff training, and monitoring for unauthorised activity.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your interaction with us has been compromised, please contact us immediately at info@skye8.tech.
13. Your rights
Subject to applicable Cameroonian law and any overriding legal exceptions, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion or anonymisation where processing is no longer necessary or lawful;
- object to or request restriction of certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request portability of information you provided in a structured, commonly used format, where technically feasible;
- lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority in Cameroon or your country of residence, where applicable.
14. Exercising your rights
To make a privacy request, email info@skye8.tech with the subject line "Privacy Request" and enough detail for us to verify your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days, or within any shorter period required by applicable law.
We may need to retain certain records for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes even after a deletion request is honoured.
15. Children’s privacy
Our general marketing Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or guardian authority.
Our academy and internship programs may involve participants under 18. In those cases, enrolment is managed through schools, guardians, or formal program agreements with appropriate consent and safeguarding measures.
16. Third-party websites and embeds
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, embedded maps, social networks, payment gateways, or partner platforms. Skye8 is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their policies before submitting personal information.
17. Marketing communications
If you opt in to receive updates about Skye8 products, events, research, or careers, we may contact you by email or other channels you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting info@skye8.tech.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send essential service, security, or legal notices related to your relationship with Skye8.
18. Automated decision-making
Skye8 does not generally make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects without human review. If we introduce such processing in a product or hiring workflow, we will provide meaningful information about the logic involved and your options under applicable law.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, or our Services. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or direct notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, except where further consent is required by law.
